Head of Database Administration, Data Analytics & AI


Prime Responsibilities
•  Provide strategic leadership for enterprise database environments by designing and implementing robust database management frameworks that ensure high availability, resilience, security, and optimal performance across mission critical platforms.
•  Architect and oversee scalable database infrastructures, including multitenant architectures, sharding, partitioning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
•  Lead database capacity planning, licensing strategies, and infrastructure optimization to enhance operational efficiency and future scalability.
•  Define and implement the Bank data analytics strategy by leveraging advanced analytical models to generate actionable insights and strengthen data-driven decision-making.
•  Establish enterprise data governance and data quality frameworks while promoting modern self-service analytics capabilities across business units.
•  Develop and execute the Bank AI adoption roadmap by identifying high-impact use cases and ensuring the successful deployment of AI-driven solutions.
•  Oversee the AI/ML lifecycle, including model development, training, validation, and deployment-ensuring ethical practices, robust governance, and regulatory compliance.
•  Build and lead a high performing data, analytics, and AI team by fostering innovation, strengthening technical capability, and promoting continuous professional development and succession readiness.
•  Promote a culture of technological excellence and cross functional collaboration to accelerate the Bank digital and data transformation initiatives.


Qualification & Other Competencies
•  Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
•  Minimum 10 years of professional experience in database administration, data science, data analytics, machine learning, or a related field. Experience in a financial institution will be considered an added advantage.
•  Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Azure Data Scientist Associate will be considered an asset.
•  Strong proficiency in database technologies including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB, as well as Big Data platforms and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
•  Experience with AI/ML frameworks and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
•  Strong understanding of statistical concepts, predictive modeling techniques, and data engineering fundamentals.
•  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities with strong attention to detail.
•  Ability to translate complex business requirements into analytical solutions and effectively communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
•  Strong commitment to data ethics, confidentiality, and governance.
